Frequently Asked Questions

Q - What background checks do The Babysitting Collective run on their babysitters?

We have an extensive 6-step vetting process that each babysitter must go through before we allow them to work:

  1. Obtain an up-to-date CV displaying their qualifications and any experience in the industry with children and discuss this during the interview stage.

  2. Scanned photo ID Validation - either a valid passport or Driving Licence.

  3. Ensure the babysitter has an up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate.

  4. Obtain a minimum of two references per candidate - we then follow up all references speaking to previous employees.

  5. Evaluate and perform an ongoing quality control on a continuous basis. We seek open and regular feedback from clients and from our close working relationship with the sitters. We conduct an ongoing iterative feedback process.

  6. We personally conduct a face-to-face or video interviews, discussing previous experiences working with children and qualifications. We get to know our sitters  on an individual level so we can match them with our clients.

Q - Where can I see reviews of the babysitters?

  • We are happy to provide references of each of our sitters on request, or reviews from previous clients.

Q - How do I pay my babysitter?

  • We pay the babysitter on your behalf once we have received the payment from you. Initially we will bill you for the hours the babysitter has worked, including additional approved expenses incurred by the babysitter during their time with the children. These will be clearly outlined on the invoice charged to you, differentiating between the hours payable and expense costs.

  • All payments must be made within 10 days; any overdue payments post 10 days will be charged 10% extra.
